Kalene Corcoran holds an Honours General Business Diploma from Seneca College. She completed a year of training with Eryn Waltman’s Conteur Academy (Toronto, Canada) studying Contemporary Dance. Kalene was selected to travel to Germany twice as a member of ‘Canadian National Showdance’ led by Blake McGrath and Kim Barker, and a member of the ‘World Hip-Hop and Breakdance Championships’ with Nick Tull. Kalene has traveled from Toronto to New York and Los Angeles to work with many acclaimed choreographers on the Hollywood Summer Tour with Menina Fortunato, The Cast Dance Apprentice with Angela Mahoney and several Master Classes with Mike Wittmers, Luther Brown, Nico (SYTYCD), Tokyo (SYTYCD) and can be seen in Shawn Desman’s ‘Too Young to Care’, Christian Ty’s “Strut”, KC Roberts and The Live Revolution’s “Drift Away”, and Vee Sevani’s ‘I’m Movin’ On’, shot at the Key Club in LA. She performed as a contestant in ‘Talent Nation’ in Toronto where she had the opportunity to work with top-notch leaders in the entertainment industry. She also has danced back up for up and coming hip-hop artist Jonathon Diggz.
On top of her professional experience Kalene has been teaching competitive and recreational dance for the past 4 years, including hip-hop, contemporary, jazz, lyrical, tap, technique and acro. Her choreography and students have won Adjudicator Choice Awards, Special Judge Awards and scoring the Highest Mark of Contemporary and Jazz genres and even Top Mark of the competition entirely.
Her passion for dance and her students speaks for itself. Kalene can’t wait to continue growing and exploring in the art of dance with her students!
